1. Who we are

Sorted Permits (sortedpermits.com.au) is operated by The Marketing Creative (ABN 27 708 070 588), based in Victoria, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Contact: hello@sortedpermits.com.au.

2. What the app stores, and where

The Sorted Permits app currently runs entirely in your browser. Your event details, answers and progress are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not transmitted to us and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data, or using the app's "Start over" button, deletes them. If we later add accounts or cloud saving, we will update this policy first and tell you clearly inside the product.

3. What we do collect

What you send us. If you contact hello@sortedpermits.com.au, or fill in one of the forms on this site or in the app, we receive what you write and use it to respond and to run the pilot program. The forms cover four things: joining the pilot, council enquiries, supplier listings, and feedback or a supplier suggestion from inside the app. Alongside your answers we record which page you submitted from and the site that referred you there, so we know which part of the site prompted the enquiry.

Where form submissions go. A form posts to a small service we run on Cloudflare, which writes the submission into our records in Notion. Cloudflare and Notion are United States providers, so submitting a form sends what you typed outside Australia. Cloudflare Turnstile also runs on the form to check the submission is not automated; it is a privacy-preserving alternative to a captcha and does not track you across websites. Every form keeps a plain email link beside it, so you can always reach us by email instead.

Supplier enquiries. When you use a supplier's Email or Call button, your enquiry goes directly from you to that supplier; it does not pass through us. The supplier's handling of it is subject to their own privacy practices.

Website analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to count how the site and the app are used. Plausible sets no cookies, does not track you across websites, and does not build a profile of you. It is hosted in the European Union, so this measurement data is processed outside Australia. What we receive is aggregate, non-personal counts: page views, referrers, country, device type, and a small set of product events such as how many people start the wizard, which step they reach, how many requirement lists are produced, and how many documents are generated. Event counts carry only numbers and broad buckets, for example an attendance range of 500 to 1,999. We never send the content of your event: no event names, venues, dates, organiser names, email addresses or phone numbers ever reach our analytics. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, for security and operations.

Share links. If you use the app's "Copy share link" button, your answers and progress are packed into the part of the link after the # symbol. Browsers never send that part to a server, so it does not reach us, our host, or anyone's access logs. Your name, email address and phone number are removed before the link is built. Anyone you send the link to can open a copy of that event, so treat it like the event file itself.

Supplier listings. Business contact details of listed suppliers, provided by them with consent as part of their listing.

4. What we don't do

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share your details with suppliers, councils or anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it. We do not use your information for advertising profiles.

5. Storage and security

Information we hold (email correspondence, form submissions in Notion, supplier listing details) is stored with reputable providers, using Australian-region services where practicable. No internet service is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum, which is the best security of all.

6. Access, correction and deletion

Email hello@sortedpermits.com.au to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we'll do so unless the law requires us to keep it. For information in your own browser, you're in control: the app's Start over button or your browser settings remove it.

7. Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your information, contact us first and we'll try to put it right promptly. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Changes

We'll update this page and its date when our practices change, and flag significant changes in the product.
