Privacy Policy

The short version: what you type into the app stays in your browser. We don't have a database of your events, we don't sell data, and the only personal information we hold is what you send us yourself.

1. Who we are

Sorted Permits (sortedpermits.com.au) is operated by [entity name to be confirmed], based in Victoria, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Contact: hello@sortedpermits.com.au.

2. What the app stores, and where

The Sorted Permits app currently runs entirely in your browser. Your event details, answers and progress are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are not transmitted to us and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data, or using the app's "Start over" button, deletes them. If we later add accounts or cloud saving, we will update this policy first and tell you clearly inside the product.

3. What we do collect

Email you send us. If you contact hello@sortedpermits.com.au (including via the site's buttons), we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it to respond and to run the pilot program.

Supplier enquiries. When you use a supplier's Email or Call button, your enquiry goes directly from you to that supplier; it does not pass through us. The supplier's handling of it is subject to their own privacy practices.

Website analytics. If analytics are enabled, we use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (page views, referrers, country) without cookies or individual profiles. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, for security and operations.

Supplier listings. Business contact details of listed suppliers, provided by them with consent as part of their listing.

4. What we don't do

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share your details with suppliers, councils or anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it. We do not use your information for advertising profiles.

5. Storage and security

Information we hold (email correspondence, supplier listing details) is stored with reputable providers, using Australian-region services where practicable. No internet service is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum, which is the best security of all.

6. Access, correction and deletion

Email hello@sortedpermits.com.au to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we'll do so unless the law requires us to keep it. For information in your own browser, you're in control: the app's Start over button or your browser settings remove it.

7. Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your information, contact us first and we'll try to put it right promptly. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Changes

We'll update this page and its date when our practices change, and flag significant changes in the product.
