Terms of Use

Version 0.1 · Last updated 26 July 2026

1. Who we are and what this is

Sorted Permits (sortedpermits.com.au) is a planning tool that helps event organisers understand which permits and requirements may apply to their event, track deadlines, and prepare draft documents. It is operated by [entity name to be confirmed], based in Victoria, Australia ("we", "us"). By using the site or the app you agree to these terms.

2. A planning tool, not an authority and not advice

Sorted Permits does not issue permits, licences or approvals, and cannot guarantee that any authority will grant one. Only councils and statutory bodies (such as the relevant Shire, VGCCC, EPA, DEECA, Parks Victoria and WorkSafe) decide applications.

The information in Sorted Permits is general in nature. It is prepared with care from published government guidance and real permit experience, but it is not legal, insurance, safety or professional advice, requirements change, and your event may have circumstances the tool does not ask about. Always confirm requirements with the relevant authority.

3. You remain responsible

You are responsible for your event, your application, and everything you submit to any authority. Documents generated by Sorted Permits are drafts based on your answers: you must review them, correct them, and satisfy yourself they are accurate and suitable before using them. Deadlines shown are recommended lead times counted back from your event date; statutory minimums may differ and are your responsibility to confirm.

4. Supplier listings

Supplier listings are provided to help you find providers; they are not endorsements or recommendations that a particular supplier is suitable for your event. Listings marked "Featured" are paid placements and are labelled as such. We ask suppliers for evidence of relevant credentials, but you must verify licences, insurance, availability and pricing directly. Any contract you enter with a supplier is between you and them; we are not a party to it.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Sorted Permits to submit false information to any authority, to infringe anyone's rights, or to interfere with the operation of the service. We may suspend or withdraw access to the service at any time.

6. Intellectual property

The Sorted Permits software, content, rules and branding belong to us or our licensors. The event information you enter is yours. Government requirements and template structures referenced by the tool belong to their respective authorities.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law: the service is provided as-is; we exclude all other warranties; and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on the tool's output, from a permit being refused or delayed, from the acts of a listed supplier, or from your event. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to re-supplying the service.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
