Music/noise must not exceed limits in State Environment Protection Policy (Control of Music Noise from Public Premises) No. N-2, and meet EPA outdoor entertainment venue permit guidelines. Cover speaker placement, stage orientation, event timing, monitoring and a complaint response procedure. Parks Victoria sites may cap amplified sound (55dB(A) applied at Sorrento). Keep the plan on hand during the event.
Why this mattersMusic noise is governed by a state policy (N-2) with real limits, and Parks Victoria sites can carry their own caps. The plan that satisfies officers covers speaker orientation (point them at the water if you can), monitoring during the event, and a complaints procedure with a phone number that someone actually answers.

Amplified music or activities outside standard hours (Mon-Sat 7am-11pm, Sun/PH 9am-11pm) require EPA contact to determine if a noise permit is required. Submit an EPA Pathways Advice request and keep the written advice on file: the Shire accepts 'no permit required' advice as documentation.
Why this mattersIf any activity runs outside standard hours, ask the EPA early whether you need a permit; their Pathways Advice takes time and the answer 'no permit required' is itself a document the Shire wants to see. Keep the written advice in your pack. Silence from the EPA is not approval.
